Internship agreement checklist

Here are a few important steps to take to finish your document

Read the document to make sure it meets your needs and that everyone involved agrees with the internship agreement. Remember that if you have any questions you can easily Ask a lawyer.

Signing online

  1. You can select to sign online using Rocket Lawyer.

  2. The employer and intern will receive an email invite to sign online.

Signing in print

  1. Print a copy for the employer and a copy for the intern (the parties). 

  2.  Date and sign both copies and send them to the intern.

  3. Ask the intern to date and sign both copies and return one to you. The intern will keep the second copy for their records.

  4. The date of the contract is the date on which the parties signed if that was the same day. If they signed on different days, then it is the day when the last person signed.


  • If you sign online, a copy will be stored under "My Documents" in both the employer's and intern's Rocket Lawyer accounts. 

In print

  • The employer should keep the original signed agreement, as well as a copy for their records.

  • The intern should keep their own original signed agreement.
