Tell us a bit about you and your business.
My name is Niraj and I’m the Managing Director and Founder of Previns.
10 years ago, I decided to switch the construction industry for food manufacturing. I’ve been surrounded by flavours and fusions since childhood. My dad, Pravin, was a great cook. So was my mum and others in my family. So, coming from an Indian-Kenyan background, I wanted to bring these family recipes to the mass market for all to enjoy.
We take pride in all our products being of artisan quality. We aim for customers to create a unique dining experience from the comfort of their home.
Our business has grown a lot in the past few years. The key to our business is working collaboratively, both with suppliers and customers. Through this, we’ve developed a network of local supply chain partners to source the freshest and finest ingredients.
Who are your customers?
We sell 7 categories of foods, from breads to chutneys to sauces. We’re a one stop wholesalers where customers can come to us, buy our products and sell them on.
In the beginning, we sold to farm shops and delis. Now, we sell to distributors and supermarkets. We’re even looking at exporting!
What’s your biggest business achievement so far?
Getting to where we are now.
5 years ago it was our dream to get to a position where we’re too small. Now, after 10 years of hard work, we’re in a position where our business premises is becoming too small. Demand is greater than supply and as a result, we’re looking to reinvent our production techniques whilst still keeping cooking methods as traditional as possible.
We’re currently looking at semi automation in our supply chain. We recently purchased some new machinery to prepare us for our next growth level within the next year or year and a half.

What are your plans for the future?
We’ve been growing steadily with 25% growth per quarter. In 2 years, our lease will be up and we hope to buy our own premises to expand the business even more by expanding our products and services.
Also, with my background in construction, I’d like to buy and develop more property too.
