Website terms and conditions checklist
Make it Legal™ Checklist
Here are a few important steps to take to finish your document
Make sure the Website Terms and Conditions accurately reflect the processes and procedures that will in fact be in place on your website. Make a plan for the implementation of the Website Terms and Conditions.
If you also need a website privacy policy you can make one using our template Privacy policy.
The Website Terms and Conditions must be brought to the attention of users of the website. This can be done in a number of ways, including:
-
providing a prominently displayed hyperlink to the Website Terms and Conditions, preferably from each page of the site or from the homepage only
-
asking users to expressly agree to the Website Terms, for example, by clicking an ‘I agree’ button. This is particularly relevant if users are entering a restricted area of the website for which they have to register
When the Website Terms and Conditions are amended, keep a copy of each version that has been in force.
A copy of your Website Terms and Conditions will also be automatically stored in your Rocket Lawyer account ‘Dashboard’.
