Volunteer agreement checklist

Make it Legal™ Checklist

Here are a few important steps to take to finish your document

Read the document to make sure it meets your needs and that everyone involved agreed to the volunteer agreement.

Remember that if you have any questions you can easily Ask a lawyer.

Signing online

  1. You can select to sign online using Rocket Lawyer.

  2. The organisation signatory and the volunteer will receive an email invite to sign online.

Signing in print

  1. Print a copy of the letter for the organisation and a copy for the volunteer (the parties).

  2. Date and sign both copies and send them to the volunteer.

  3. Ask the volunteer to date and sign both copies and return one to you. The volunteer will keep the second copy for their records.

If the details of the volunteer role are set out in a separate Volunteer role description this should be provided to the volunteer together with the volunteer agreement.

Keep the original signed volunteer agreement, as well as a copy for your records.

A copy of the document will also be stored under ‘My Documents’ in your Rocket Lawyer account.

The volunteer should keep their original signed volunteer agreement for their records.
