Volunteer agreement checklist

Make it Legal™ Checklist

Here are a few important steps to take to finish your document

Read the document to make sure it meets your needs and that you’ve provided all of the necessary information about the volunteering arrangement. Remember that, if you have any questions, you can Ask a lawyer for advice.

The organisation’s signatory (ie the person signing on its behalf) and the volunteer must sign the Agreement.

You can sign your Volunteer Agreement by either:

  • signing online using RocketSign, or
  • signing in print
    • print a copy for both parties
    • both parties should sign and date both copies by hand. They can do this at different times, for example, if the organisation sends the volunteer two signed copies and asks them to sign both and return one

If you’re attaching a description of the volunteer’s role, rather than including these details in the Agreement, make sure you provide this document to the volunteer with the Agreement. You can use our template to make your Volunteer role description.

Each party should keep their own original signed Volunteer Agreement.

A copy of your Volunteer Agreement will also be stored automatically in your Rocket Lawyer account ‘Dashboard’.
