Trade Mark Application Worksheet Make it Legal Checklist
What's next?
You've made your document, great work! Now you should...
If your trade mark can be visually represented (ie if it contains images, logos, and/or colours), you should include a representation (eg photograph, drawing, or other visual image) of the trade mark with your Worksheet.
Insert the representation under the heading ‘Representation of the Mark’ at the bottom of the Worksheet. If you’re working with a trade mark pro, do this before giving them your completed Worksheet. You can:
-
insert (eg paste) an image of the trade mark into the downloaded digital copy of your Worksheet (eg a Word document), or
-
attach a printed image of the trade mark to a printed version of your Worksheet, if you’re storing or passing on the Worksheet in hard-copy
Use your Trade Mark Application Worksheet to efficiently get your trade mark registered and protected.
If you’re applying for registration by yourself:
If you’re confident with trade mark classes and terms, series applications, and representing your trade mark, you can apply for a registered trade mark online via the Intellectual Property Office (IPO). You should use your Trade Mark Application Worksheet to make the process easier, as you’ll have all the information you need collected in one place.
If you’re working with a Legal Pro:
If you’re not sure which classes you should register in, how to protect variations of your mark, how best to handle registrations in multiple jurisdictions, or how to accurately represent your mark, you should get help from a trade mark pro. This can help you avoid costly, time-wasting mistakes.
You can use Rocket Lawyer’s trade mark registration service. If you’re a Rocket Legal+ member, we’ll help with your first trade mark registration for FREE.
