Here are a few important steps to take to finish your document
Include your Copyright Notice in a prominent place in the work it applies to. While there is no ‘right’ answer as to where the Notice should appear, it should be positioned so that it gives reasonable notice of the copyright.
If you’re using this Copyright Notice for written material (eg a book, eBook, journal, or other publication), this typically means including the Notice on the title page, the page after the title page, or the front or back cover.
If you’re using this Copyright Notice for a website, this typically means including the Notice on the website’s home page, on a page that appears when clicking through to a copyright or legal notices page, or both. You may also wish to include a simpler copyright disclaimer on every page of your website (eg ‘Copyright © Sample Company 2024’), with the full Copyright Notice (ie this document) set out in more detail on a designated page on your site.
Remember to review and update your Copyright Notice where relevant (eg if new material is added). For example, if you made and published your Copyright Notice in 2024, the date in your Notice may simply say ‘2024’. However, if you publish new content on your website in 2025, you should revise the date range in your Copyright Notice to reflect this (eg so that it says ‘2024 - 2025’ instead of just ‘2024’).
A copy of your Copyright Notice will be stored automatically in your Rocket Lawyer account ‘Dashboard’.
You should also download and securely store a copy of your Copyright Notice for your records.
