Consultancy agreement checklist

Make it Legal™ Checklist

Here are a few important steps to take to finish your document

Make sure the Consultancy Agreement is complete. In particular, note that if during the interview you chose to set out the description of the services in the specification of services schedule, you need to attach this to the back of the Agreement before signing it.

You can attach the schedule in two ways:

  1. by attaching it to the Agreement after you print off a Word or PDF version of the Consultancy Agreement, or

  2. by pasting it into a Word version of the Consultancy Agreement before you print it.

Read the document to make sure it meets your needs and that everyone involved agrees with the Consultancy Agreement. Remember that if you have any questions you can easily Ask a lawyer.

Each party (ie the client and the consultant) must sign the Consultancy Agreement and the specification of services schedule (if required).

Signing online

  1. You can sign online using RocketSign.

  2. You can send an email request inviting the other party to sign.

Signing in print

  1. Print a copy of your Consultancy Agreement for each party.

  2. Every party must sign and date each copy.

The date of the Agreement is the date on which the parties signed if that was the same day. If they signed on different days, then it is the day when the last person signed.

Each party should make a copy of their signed Consultancy Agreement and store their original safely away. A copy of the Agreement will be stored automatically in your Rocket Lawyer account ‘Dashboard’.

Review your Agreement regularly, especially if there are any changes to the description of the services. If there is a change, the parties will need to execute a variation of the Agreement.
