Running a Kentucky LLC

As soon as you’re done starting your Kentucky LLC, all you have to do is follow these next few steps. Here’s how to complete your LLC:
Step 1. Have a Registered Agent
Your Registered Agent can be either a member of your Kentucky LLC or a professional third party, like a lawyer or service company. You must make sure you have both a Registered Agent and office within the state.
Step 2. Set Up an EIN
Registering for an Employer Identification Number only needs to be done once. It will never expire.
Step 3. Establish an Operating Agreement
You can help define your Kentucky LLC’s policies and procedures through an LLC Operating Agreement. Kentucky permits the agreement to be written or spoken.
Step 4. Set Up a Meeting
Kentucky does not specify any requirements when holding an organizational meeting.
Step 5. Submit an Initial Report
What type of business is your Kentucky LLC? Who are your company’s officers? You’ll answer these questions and more in your Initial Report. Kentucky does not mandate you to complete one.
