Charley is the Founder and CEO of Rocket Lawyer. His experience as a lawyer working with consumer services, start up businesses, and small law firms taught him that something was missing—an easy and affordable way for everyone to understand and manage their legal needs. That's why he started Rocket Lawyer.
Prior to founding Rocket Lawyer, Charley advised early stage companies, large enterprises, and their investors on strategic partnering and corporate development strategy. Rocket Lawyer corporate partners include LexisNexis, Google, TransUnion, Avanquest Software, and many other leading companies.
Charley has been at the forefront of Internet corporate development since beginning his career as an attorney at Venture Law Group in Menlo Park, California in 1996. While practicing at Venture Law Group, he participated in the early-stage representation of Yahoo! (IPO), WebTV Networks (acquired by Microsoft), and Cerent Corporation (acquired by Cisco Systems), and was the founder of Onstation Corporation (acquired by The Cobalt Group).
Charley holds a JD from the University of California at Berkeley, an MS from San Francisco State University, and a BS from the United States Naval Academy. He served as a U.S. Naval officer and is a Gulf War veteran. He currently serves on the board of directors of Pro Bono Net and the executive board of Tech for America.

David was first introduced to Google in 1998 as a partner in the corporate transactions group at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, one of the nation's leading law firms representing technology businesses. He served as Google's first outside counsel and worked with Larry Page and Sergey Brin to incorporate the company and secure its initial rounds of financing. During his tenure at Wilson Sonsini, David worked with a wide variety of technology companies to help them manage complex transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, and initial public offerings.
David earned his Bachelor's degree in history from Santa Clara University and his JD from Stanford Law School.

Before joining Vista, Mr. Flannery was a partner with Blackstone's GSO Capital. He was Co-Head and Joint Portfolio Manager of the Capital Solutions Funds and a member of the Distressed Credit Investment Committee. Prior to joining GSO, Mr. Flannery was a Portfolio Manager with Anchorage Capital in New York. He focused on illiquid credit investing and was a member of the CLO Investment Committee and Risk Committee. Prior to Anchorage, Mr. Flannery worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch ("BAML") where he held several global group head roles, including Chief Risk Officer of Global Banking & Markets and Global Head of Leveraged Finance & Capital Markets. Before joining BAML, Mr. Flannery was the Global Head of Leveraged Finance at Deutsche Bank. He began his career at Bankers Trust Company in 1992 in the high yield bond department.
Mr. Flannery is a board member of Meltwater and Rocket Lawyer and a formal board observer of Callisto Media, both portfolio companies of VCP. He serves on the board of Intrensic, a SaaS software company. He also serves on the Board of DREAM, a nonprofit serving youths in New York City.

While at Ares, Mr. Renehan underwrote and maintained credit facilities for corporate and sponsor-backed companies across a wide array of industries, including software, healthcare, and business services, among others. In addition to his credit responsibilities, Mr. Renehan also assisted in strategic endeavors of the firm, including portfolio acquisitions and fundraising activities. Before his time with Ares Management, Mr. Renehan was an Analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Leveraged Finance division, where he assisted in underwriting and syndicating public and private debt facilities with transactions including corporate mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, dividend recapitalizations and refinancings.
