Have you ever felt like getting legal help online was a bit... disconnected? You find the right legal document, you navigate the tech, but when it comes time to actually talk to a lawyer, suddenly you're jumping between apps, managing separate logins, and hoping your webcam behaves.

We heard you.

In fact, 32% of customers told us that building real rapport with an attorney is an important part of feeling confident in the legal help they receive. That means that while sometimes you want to work quickly, get what you need, and move on, other times the reassurance of a personal connection can be an important part of feeling confident in the legal help you receive. You shouldn't have to choose between the convenience of getting legal help online and the confidence that comes from talking face-to-face with an attorney.

That's why we're so excited to introduce web conferencing as a capability in Rocket Lawyer’s Consult an Attorney Live. Now, when you schedule a consultation with an attorney, you can choose between a traditional phone call or a web conference—making it easier to get human guidance without adding more friction to the process. It's legal help that finally feels human, and it happens right where you already are.

How Rocket Lawyer Web Conferencing Works

We've made it incredibly simple.

When you schedule an eligible Live Consult, you can choose between a traditional phone call or a web conference. If you choose web conferencing, you'll get a secure link to join your consultation without needing to create a separate Zoom account or download software. We've even built in a quick pre-meeting check so you can test your audio, blur your background (if your home office is messy), and feel ready before the conversation starts.

And because life happens (or some other 4-letter word happens), there’s a backup plan. If you’re unable to join the web conference—or your internet decides to take a break—your attorney can follow up by phone so you still have a way to connect.

How Rocket Lawyer Protects Your Privacy During Web Consultations

We believe sensitive legal conversations deserve a space that is both simple and private.

That's why Rocket Lawyer does not record video or audio from your Live Consult. We also don’t record transcripts or the contents of in-call chat.

Our web conferencing service uses encrypted technology to protect your conversation and data. We do log limited operational information—such as when participants join and leave, how long the consultation lasts, and certain meeting features used—to help us operate and improve the service.

In other words, we track whether the meeting worked without recording what you and your attorney actually discussed, ensuring your consultation remains a private space for you and your attorney to focus on what matters most.

How Rocket Lawyer Combines AI with Attorney Guidance

We often talk about combining AI with human expertise, but what does that actually mean for you?

It means you can use AI to get immediate help understanding a legal issue, then connect face-to-face with an attorney when you want personalized guidance—or when the stakes feel too high to DIY.

By bridging the gap between digital tools and human guidance, we're making sure you never have to navigate a complex legal situation alone. It's the best of both worlds: the speed of technology paired with the expertise, judgement, and empathy of a real person.

Rocket Lawyer Web Conferencing Features

We’ve focused on the small details that make a big difference:

  • One-click simplicity: No separate accounts or complicated instructions.
  • More control: Test your equipment before joining, blur your background, or turn off video if you prefer.
  • Better collaboration: Screen sharing makes it easy to review legal documents together in real-time.
  • A backup way to connect: If the web conference doesn't work, your attorney can connect with you by phone.
  • Privacy by design: Rocket Lawyer does not record the audio, video, transcript, or in-call chat from your consultation.

Our Vision to Connect AI, Legal Tools, and Attorney Advice in One Experience

This launch is more than just a new way to have an attorney conversation; it's another step toward making Rocket Lawyer a more connected legal experience—one where you can move fluidly between AI assistance, legal documents and tools, and expert attorney advice.

And we’re just getting started. We are committed to making legal help more accessible and intuitive every single day. As we grow, we’ll review our customer feedback and see what is working and what needs to improve to scale legal access and bring human expertise closer to you, ensuring that the help you need is always just a click away. Stay tuned—the future of legal help is looking brighter (and more human) than ever.
