February 12, 2014 — A full belly is something many of us take for granted, but it a daily struggle for thousands of people throughout San Francisco and Marin. To help end hunger in these areas, the San Francisco and Marin Food Bank serves more than 100,000 meals a day to families in need -- made possible thanks to thousands of donors, supporters and volunteers.
Here at Rocket Lawyer, we are always looking for ways to give back to a community that has given us so much. To help us work towards this ongoing goal, we established Project Rocket Lawyer, an employee group dedicated to helping our surrounding community. Its ongoing mission is to generate positive and notable change around the Bay Area, one event at a time. Some of Project Rocket Lawyer’s charitable efforts have included our Holiday Charity Raffle, as well as our donations to the SF Food Bank. In 2013, we raised raised funds for Modest Needs through our Charity Raffle, and with the dedicated effort of our Sales Team, we donated over 1,500 pounds of food to the SF Food Bank.
Last week, dozens of Rocket Lawyer employees descended on the SF Food Bank’s primary warehouse to lend a helping hand. The assignment: oatmeal. More specifically, helping to measure, bag and box thousands of pounds of it. Sporting their Rocket Lawyer red, the team dove right on in. After two and a half hours of furious bagging and boxing, we successfully loaded nearly 3 pallets -- almost 2,500 pounds of oatmeal!
