Before you start

Running a Texas LLC

Get your Texas LLC up and running. We have all you need in one place to finish the process:
Step 1. Appoint a Registered Agent
We can help you find a Registered Agent in Texas. The state requires that you have a Registered Agent and office at all times.
Step 2. Have an EIN
When you apply for an Employer Identification Number, the IRS automatically assumes that your Texas LLC has been legally formed.
Step 3. Prepare an Operating Agreement
You can elect to prepare an LLC Operating Agreement, also known as “Company Agreement” under Texas law. It’s optional to write one. It may also be spoken.
Step 4. Set Up an Organizational Meeting
Soon after you form your Texas LLC, it’s a good idea to have an organizational meeting with your LLC members.
Step 5. Submit a Statement of Information
Texas requires you to file a Statement of Information, or also known as a Certificate of Formation in the state. There is a $300 fee.
