Running a Virginia LLC

Unsure what to do next after creating your Virginia LLC? We’re happy to assist you in getting your LLC up and running:
Step 1. Secure a Registered Agent
Make sure that your documents never get “lost in the mail.” Our Registered Agent service can help. Virginia asks that you keep both a Registered Agent and office in the state.
Step 2. Get an EIN
An Employer Identification Number helps identify your Virginia LLC. It does not expire.
Step 3. Form an Operating Agreement
Even though Virginia allows you to elect not to create an LLC Operating Agreement, it’s a wise step to take soon after you form your Virginia LLC. It can be either written or verbal.
Step 4. Schedule an Organizational Meeting
An organizational meeting is held to appoint officers, approve the LLC Operating Agreement, and set up bank accounts, among many other important business items. There are no requirements.
Step 5. File an Initial Report
Though an Initial Report is not mandatory in the state of Virginia, you should take the time to fill it out. All you have to do is provide the basic information of your Virginia LLC.
