The recent creation of cross-functional teams has had a powerful impact on us all. Some of us can see the potential benefits. _________________.
Yet some of us also feel uncomfortable with the idea of working with people outside our own professional area of specialization, with the idea of being judged by people who don't understand the finer details of our work, and with the whole idea of changing our work style.
I understand the discomfort that all of us feel when we are asked to integrate change. I realize the transition process we are in will have difficult moments for all of us.
Ultimately, however, I feel that we all will benefit. Let's try to give the new idea a fair chance by participating openly and fully. The results will be there for us in the end.
