About Shanen Prout
I pride myself on being an attorney that my clients not only believe is very effective, but is also a person that my clients like and respect on a personal level. My integrity and professionalism are of the utmost importance to me. I strive to build long-standing relationships with individuals and small businesses that are based on mutual trust, open communication, and cooperation.
I represent clients in trademark, copyright, trade secrets, entertainment, and business litigation before California state and federal courts. I also review, negotiate, and draft a variety of business transactions for artists, writers, film producers, museums, musicians and fashion retailers. And, I work with clients in identifying, forming, and maintaining the business entity most suitable for their particular line of work.
My rates are highly competitive and reasonable for the Southern California market--I have never lost a client because they felt my rates were too high. For litigation matters, I generally bill hourly and keep track of my time in six minute increments. For certain litigation tasks, I may be willing to cap the time I will bill for or bill the activity on a flat rate. For certain business transactions, I'm open to discussing billing on a flat or capped fee rate.
