Dan is a native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. At the University of Nebraska at Lincoln he received his Bachelors of Science for Business Administration degree in Accounting.

Dan attended law school at the South Dakota School of Law. In law school he was a member of the Client Counseling & Negotiations Board and a coordinator for the Volunteer Income Tax Association. In May of 2008, Dan obtained his JD and MBA from USD. Dan joined the firm as an associate.
