Ms. Choate exclusively represents employees. She has counseled more than 300 clients, from current employees facing employment problems to wrongfully terminated employees on various issues. Ms. Choate has been a guest lecturer on employment issues for the Chicago Bar Association’s Law at the Library Series annually since 2005 years. She is an active member of the CBA and the Illinois Chapter of the National Employment Lawyer’s Association, where she currently serves as President.
Ms. Choate has extensive experience in handling cases involving sexual harassment, employment discrimination (race, national origin, gender, sex, religion, age, pregnancy, disability, sexual orientation), retaliation, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) violations, and related employment torts. In addition to litigating various employment matters in both state and federal court, Ms. Choate represents clients in private negotiations and in investigations and hearings before the EEOC and IDHR.
Ms. Choate has been named an "Illinois Rising Star" for 2012, 2010 and 2009 by Law & Politics.
Ms. Choate earned an A.B. from the University of Chicago, with a double major of History and Law, Letters, and Society in 2001. In 2004, she was awarded her Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
Ms. Choate is admitted to practice law within the State of Illinois (2004) and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (2005).
