One of the most inspiring things about being Rocket Lawyer is that we have a front row seat to the challenges, victories, and everything in between, of some of the most remarkable people in the world. In the nearly 15 years since 2008, when we started up, our customers have navigated the financial crisis and Great Recession, political upheavals on multiple continents, a global pandemic, the end of war by the U.S. and its allies in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, followed by the current challenges of inflation, labor shortages, and looming recession.

Could we ever use some joy, huh? Well, right on cue, the Golden State Warriors went on an absolute winning tear, racking up 6 trips to the championship series, resulting in 4 championships in the last eight years. This team inspired us all here at Rocket Lawyer to dream big and to double down on what we do best, helping our everyday champions, our customers, to achieve big things knowing we’ve got their backs.

Of course, nobody wins championships alone. The Warriors’ success as an organization depends on the talent and effort of the dedicated team behind the team, from the front office, to the training staff, to legal, HR, finance, hospitality and custodial services and many more unsung heroes - everyday champions who do what it takes off the court to win.

That is why we just launched a multi-year partnership between the Golden State Warriors and Rocket Lawyer. Now, like nearly a million other everyday champions, working to support and grow thousands of organizations, large and small, every Warriors employee can access the legal help they need as a benefit of their employment. This is because Rocket Lawyer is the official legal services partner of the Golden State Warriors.

The Rocket Lawyer partnership with the Warriors is all about our shared values. We value  community engagement and helping others to achieve their dreams. We’re honored to serve and highlight our everyday champions all season long and beyond.

Moreover, together, we’re giving back to the community by supporting the Golden State Warriors Community Foundation, and their first-of-a-kind Generation Thrive, joining the organization in the ongoing work to achieve educational equity for Bay Area students and educators.

As it stands, today is momentous for the Warriors Community Foundation. With its flagship Oakland Generation Thrive location having opened its doors eight months ago, today, we will join to open the doors for the first time at the San Francisco Generation Thrive location, situated outside Chase Center in Thrive City, the plaza surrounding the arena. With its sweeping views of the Bay and downtown San Francisco, San Francisco Generation Thrive will inspire, uplift and empower our Bay Area educators to change the game for our students. Generation Thrive supports community organizations and allies serving at-risk educational communities with technical assistance, training, and networking opportunities, and we at Rocket Lawyer are proud to be supporters of Generation Thrive.

I’ve been a Warriors fan for decades, since the days of Run TMC, We Believe, and now the Strength in Numbers dynasty. What I admire the most about this amazing team is their ability to combine grit and determination with infectious joy. Their success story has lessons for everyone facing challenges in their lives and looking to solve problems to make their lives and the lives of their loved ones better.

Just as the Warriors are champions on the court, our customers are everyday champions off the court, overcoming obstacles to reach their goals.

Take Monte Wilson, for example. This everyday champion is a California native who has run a Bay Area consulting firm for 13 years. Their office has a brick and mortar location in the Bayview neighborhood in San Francisco. Monte is a consultant for public-private development, utilizing Women Business Enterprises (WBEs) in public and private sector projects. Their clients range from general contractors to nonprofit housing developers. Wilson uses Rocket Lawyer contracts to document agreements with clients, and has even used Rocket Lawyer for personal documents, like drafting a Will. “There are so many things going on when you’re running a business–it’s so helpful to have everything I need in one place.”

Monte also reached out to the business experts on the Rocket Lawyer Business Services team and formed an LLC.

"Rocket Lawyer has helped save me tons of time and has kept my business legal. I like that all of my documents are easy to customize and also easily accessible in the cloud. I can access my documents from anywhere on my phone, including work sites. The Rocket Lawyer network attorneys have been super helpful reviewing my contracts when I need some extra legal advice. I’ve been really happy with my membership. It’s a great service at a great price."

And then there’s Greg Lutes. Greg had been an executive chef at a number of leading restaurants for nearly 20 years when he decided he was ready to put his name behind his own restaurant in 2013. 3rd Cousin is now a celebrated California cuisine restaurant specializing in farm to table, organic food in San Francisco’s Bernal neighborhood. As a new restaurant owner, Greg was bootstrapping it all the way. He knew he wanted to incorporate his new business as a first step, so he did his research and found Rocket Lawyer. Greg went through the incorporation process with Rocket Lawyer and later created an Employee Handbook to stay compliant with California labor laws. He also consulted with a Rocket Lawyer network attorney to help secure an agreement with a private investor.

"I’m pretty scrappy and resourceful, so when it came to incorporating my restaurant business, I was excited to find Rocket Lawyer. I decided to get a paying membership as I knew I’d need more help along the way and it paid off. I’ve since used the service several times and plan to talk to a lawyer about getting an investor on board."

Dana Dunford, another everyday champion, is the CEO of Hemlane, an online platform where real estate investors and managers can remotely manage their investments nationwide. When Dana started Hemlane, she chose Rocket Lawyer as her go-to legal service. “Rocket Lawyer is the place where I could find everything: I could complete customized documents, ask a lawyer a question, and there are articles and legal guides.” As a nationwide company, Dana also appreciates the nationwide coverage Rocket Lawyer provides, and the fact that her employees can pick up customers anywhere.

"Rocket Lawyer has legal advice available at all hours–simply log in to ask questions and get real answers. It’s a really good feeling in that sense. We use Rocket Lawyer literally all the time. It’s simple, easy to use, and enables us to create documents and get work done more effectively than traditional channels."

Here’s to all of the champions, on and off the court, who inspire us to do more every day.
