The Request to Remove Name from Direct Marketing List is used to request removal of your name and address or name and phone number from a direct marketer's list. It can also be used to contact the Direct Marketing Association to have your name placed on a "Do Not Call" and/or "Do Not Mail" list. Federal regulations provide that a telemarketer cannot call a consumer's home before 8:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m. Further, telemarketers must honor a consumer's request not to be called again. Telemarketing companies are required to have written policies regarding the maintenance of "Do Not Call" lists. If a consumer asks the telemarketer not to call the consumer, then the telemarketer cannot call the consumer for up to 10 years. |
