I love this company and the people I work with here. Due to a medical condition, however, I no longer feel that I can perform my duties at the level that I expect of myself and that my colleagues expect of me. Thus, the simplest, though most painful course of action, seems to be to tender my resignation.
Therefore, I hereby tender my resignation from _________________, effective immediately.
My family and I wish to express our heartfelt thanks to those of you who have been so supportive of us during the difficulties of the last year. Knowing you has been a great gift, and losing the day-to-day contact through which you have provided so much support will be a great loss. Nevertheless, I feel that my decision is in the best interest of the company, and that ultimately it will benefit my health. My decision is final.
