After _________________ years here, however, I feel it might be appropriate for me to receive a pay increase. I believe that my experience here at _________________ warrants such an increase; but if I need to upgrade particular skills in order to merit an increase, I am willing to do so.
Other workers at my level of seniority and responsibility seem to be earning in the range of _________________ to _________________, while I am still earning _________________. It would be very meaningful to me to know that I was being paid on a level commensurate to my job responsibilities and experience.
