In putting together our employee benefit package, we extensively researched the average number of sick days used by employees in companies similar to ours before determining the number of paid sick days we allow. The number we allow is quite generous by industry standards.
If the number of sick days available does not suffice, perhaps you need to take a closer look at your health situation by seeing a doctor. You can then make an appointment with your supervisor to discuss any findings. If a medical examination reveals some underlying health condition that would cause you to re-evaluate your employment obligations, please let us know.
